Q & A

1a. Are your meals/products registered with the department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries? Yes

1b. Does each product carry a V number and could you supply it if a customer asks?
Yes, it is on our product label as well as all marketing material
Farmstyle - REG No: V28873
Farmstyle Select - REG No: V28872
Country Style Select - REG NO: V28871
Barnyard - REG NO: V28874

2a. Are your meals complete & balanced or complimentary?
Yes, all 4 varieties is complete and balanced and can be fed on its own as a complete meal with all the nutritional elements needed.

2b. What does it mean when you say something is a complementary meal as opposed to complete & balanced?
Our opinion with regards to complementary meals is a meal that has not got complete balanced ingredients to stand alone as a meal
. It lacks certain nutritional components but can supplement your dog’s diet, for example when you want to add a bit of protein variety or your dog requires additional dietary components for whatever reason.
2c. Please specify which meals are complimentary and which complete & balanced
All complete and balanced:
Farmstyle
Farmstyle Select
Barnyard
Countrystyle select

3a. What is the nutritional analysis of your complete & balanced meals?
See
brochure

3b. How did you establish your nutritional analysis - by independent lab reports or data-based analysis?
We have each product/meal tested by an independent SANAS registered laboratory

4. What is the breakdown of ingredients of your complete & balanced meals?
We base our meals on a
Frankenprey model and try to cover all elements of what your dog would eat in a primordial diet we follow similar percentages.

5. In your chicken meals - what cuts do you use?
Breasts, thighs, wings, drumsticks, skins, fat & organs. Our ingredient list of each product is available on request or you can read through our brochure.

6. What tripe & liver do you use? Depending on the meal we use either Sheep tripe, beef tripe or kudu tripe, it is dirty tripe as that is the most probiotic rich. We use sheep, ostrich and venison liver only.

7. What is your protein sources?
Turkey, Chicken, Beef, Ostrich, Lamb, Variety of venison, Rabbit, Duck. Protein variety is very important.

8. What fruit/vegetables do you use?
We use fermented seasonal vegetables and fruit. Fermentation provides extra pre– and probiotics
, as it assists with good gut health.

9. What is your advice to people who would like to switch to raw?
I
firmly believe that going cold turkey is the best way. There are so many other pitfalls when feeding both kibble and raw. Therefore, my advice is to feed early dinner of last kibble meal (4pm) and the next morning go straight to raw with a late breakfast, adding Raw goats milk kefir to help with the transition. We have transitioned over 1000 dogs, very successfully, this way.

For the odd dog that may have an issue with this transition, we suggest Slippery Elm Bark for the next two days. In the case of the odd dog (especially hounds) that seems to be a picky eater, our protocol will be to cook plain beef mince and mix 50% of the meal portion of raw mince with 50% cooked mince. Slowly reduce the cooked mince portion over a 14 day period. Never cook your PAWSOME RAW pre-made meals.

10. What are your views on the best way to feed raw? Meals vs cuts, etc
I have spent lots of money and time investigating and testing complete minced meals to make sure it is 100% balanced at all times. Our minced meals are not just organs and cheap meats. We do a balanced variety of protein sources and combine organ meat, muscle meat, bone, fat etc according to a “Franken-prey” model and all our minces are complete and balanced. We do not base our nutritional values on database analysis, but
test at independent laboratories to make sure that it is actual and correct. We use only organic human grade meats (yes in certain cultures dirty tripe is consumed by humans). I do believe you need to look at the whole picture when you feed your pets a raw diet.  I have a different feeding philosophy than any other pre-made brands and definitely give variety over the 4 different types I manufacture. I do sell a meal plan concept to add RMB in the weekly diet plan as I believe chewing is essential for them. Our meal-plans are all well planned and balanced and I feel comfortable to promote and support it, whereas I find that DIY can easily lack balance and essential elements that can over a period of time, cause health issues.

Having a dog is a huge responsibility. If you ask me, having a dog is not as easy as people think it is. If you are a parent, then you will know what I am talking about. Owning a dog is very much like having a new born baby. A dog is not someone that can just fend for itself, a dog needs all the love and affection that you can give it. A dog is the most precious pet.

    ALTERNATIVE HEALING & BLOG DISCLAIMER
Alternative healing articles and any other advice featured in this blog do not claim to replace any conventional veterinary treatment. This is an educational blog for Beagle owners to read about alternative options that we as Beagle owners have tried ourselves and seen positive outcomes. We do not post anything we have not experienced positively and will never endorse anything in which we do not believe through positive experience.

Kinesiology and other healing modalities do not diagnose, cure or prescribe, as these activities are the prerogative of veterinarians. Kinesiology may provide a different, energy-based approach to allergy support, and potentially allow for a reduction in the use of corticosteroids. As a kinesiologist, I believe that allergies, just like other ailments, may have an emotional and/or mental aspect which is worth addressing. As such, this modality represents a valid complementary therapy to veterinary care.
